About
This blog celebrates Congregation Shema Yisrael, one of the oldest continually operating Messianic congregations in Idaho. Founded in 1996, Shema Yisrael is a fellowship of Jewish and Gentile believers in Yeshua our Messiah. Our Shabbat (Shabbath) service includes a traditional Hebraic liturgy which gives honor and glory to Yeshua and to God the Father, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that there is no separation in the Almighty’s Word and that the Bible is a complete and seamless document with the Torah (The Five Books of Moses) as the foundation. The entire Bible is the eternally unchanging Word of the Almighty and just as He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, so is His Word. The Word of the Almighty has always pointed to our Messiah Yeshua and is our guide for worship and righteous living.
We created this blog to help promote understanding between Messianic believers in Yeshua, the Evangelical church, and any who are drawn by God to a Hebraic understanding of the entire Bible. We publish theological articles, commentaries, and book reviews relevant to our faith and walk with the Messiah. Everyone is invited to share their respectful comments and observations on anything we write. We want to promote the coming together of differing viewpoints in the Bible and the one who is Master of all our lives: Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Christ).
We meet for Shabbat services near Boise from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday. We begin with liturgical prayer and songs of praise and worship. At midday, we break for a communal meal called “Oneg” (which means “delight”). Afterwards, we continue with a Torah service, followed by both adult and children’s classes.
